Ron Smith, a native Texan raised in the Panhandle's cotton, cattle and oil country, learned to trade commodity futures in 1997 from Ken Roberts. With a farming background, Ron is especially interested in the Agricultural side of futures, but is at home trading any futures product. He says, "If you can trade, you can trade futures."

As national trainer for a futures-trading software and training company, he has written numerous trading tutorials, handouts and training courses for various software platforms. Since 2008, he has been the product lead for Commodity Futures at a prominent investor education and software provider. Since 2005, he has appeared as a featured speaker at national trade shows and conventions, and has appeared as a frequent guest on financial online television networks.
